Considered by many the best Italian fighter of WW II, the prototype of the Thunderbolt flew Mc.202 Lonate Pozzolo August 10, 1940, piloted by Guido Carestiato. The aircraft could finally have a respectable motor apparatus, first with German engines DB.601A-1, then realizzato su licenza dalla Alfa Romeo come RA 1000 RC41. Compared to
Supermodel kit, that of Hasegawa is a step forward. At least we have a base from which to start for the interior, the lines are correct and paneling in the negative. Let's say, however, Hasegawa only offers a model with anti-sand filter (Supermodel had the opportunity to take advantage of anti-sand filter or not), then missing some small details, such as forks for the return of the wheels or central scuttles the venturi. Overall, definitely better than the Supermodel. Again, as previously for the two Mc.202 Supermodel of the Thunderbolt, I made two copies of the Hasegawa. Again we start from the cockpit with detailing the interior and seat belts of RCR Models. The aircraft assembly very easy, there are some imperfections to be put in place with a little 'stunned. Trucks should be detailed with the addition of the brakes (with very fine copper wire) a few tweaks to the wells of the two arms of the carts el'autocostruzione for closure of the central panels of the truck wheels. Some small problem with the ventral air intake that does not fit perfectly to the fuselage. Then you need the color of the models. In this case I made an airplane of 90 Squadron, 10 Squadron / 4 ° Stormo CT (just moved to North Africa), and a copy of the 96 Squadron del 9° Gruppo/4° Stormo basato a Campoformido poco prima del trasferimento in Sicilia. Both aircraft have the central white band in Snow White in LC 01. Both aircraft were later passed with a coat of Gunze gloss clear of S. (H 30). Then the decals, taking more from the sheet of Tauromodels n.72-521 (and even a little bit of a recovery package in my "bank" staff), were placed touching a few drops of fabric softener for decals of Tamy. New coat of clear gloss Gunze H 30 S. aging, and then with chalk and opaque black Model Master diluitissimo for paneling. Always transparent coat of matt S. Gunze but with H 20. The Thunderbolt Mc.202 were then set in the desert area (for aircraft of 90 Squadron) and theater Italy North (96 Squadron) with sketches of Prieseler and Revell.
Overall, the Hasegawa kit and good, although there are some gaps in a minor car built or retrieved from other models.
good model to all
